We built this because we were too stubborn to stop playing
A tale of friendship, spreadsheets, WhatsApp chaos, and an unreasonable amount of cricket nerdiness.
It Started With a Spreadsheet
Five friends. One Google Sheet. Zero automation.
Leaderboards were manually updated. Scores were computed "whenever we found time" (read: 3 days late). Screenshots were shared in WhatsApp groups like ancient scrolls.
โ Every. Single. Day.
GPT Makes Team Icons
We upgraded! Slightly.
We discovered GPT could generate team icons. Revolutionary. More friends joined. The group got bigger, the chaos got... bigger-er.
Scores were still computed manually. But now with style. (Still 3 days late though.)
Live APIs. Real App. No More Excuses.
We went all in.
Live APIs pulling real data. An actual app interface. Three different leagues running simultaneously. The leaderboard updating after every. single. ball.
Our group chats went from "when are scores coming?" to "DID YOU SEE THAT WICKET?! I'M UP 25 POINTS!"
Wait... Other People Might Want This Too?
Plot twist: we realized we weren't special.
Turns out, every friend group has that one person who makes everyone play fantasy cricket. Every group has the spreadsheet guy. Every group has the "bro when are scores coming" guy.
We looked at each other and thought: "What if we just... let everyone else have this too?"
So here we are. Three years of chaos, condensed into an app. You're welcome. (Also, we're sorry in advance for the friendships this will test.)
โ Official company motto (probably)
Things we don't miss
"Can you resend the screenshot? It expired on WhatsApp"
Opening Excel at 11 PM to manually calculate who got bonus points for a maiden over
"Wait, you counted that six twice" โ a 45-minute argument
Finding out you won a matchday... 4 days after it happened
The spreadsheet crashed because someone used the wrong formula
"I think the scores are right? Maybe? Let me check again tomorrow"
"The feeling of seeing the leaderboard update after every ball in a live match... is not even close to anything I've built in the last few years."
